Indian left-arm spinner R. Sai Kishore has signed with Gloucestershire County Cricket Club for the final six matches of the 2026 County Championship season. The 29-year-old will feature in Gloucestershire’s match against Worcestershire County Cricket Club at Cheltenham on August 20. Kishore had previously impressed during his spell with Surrey County Cricket Club in 2025, taking 11 wickets in just two games.After completing his move, Kishore said he was eager to experience the British environment again. “I’m very grateful to Jon and everyone at Gloucestershire for giving me this opportunity. Gloucestershire is a club with a great history and fantastic facilities and it’s really exciting to have the opportunity to play cricket here.“I’ve always wanted to test my skills in British conditions and after speaking to management I knew it was the right choice. I’m looking forward to putting on this jersey, meeting the fans at Bristol and Cheltenham and doing my bit,” he said.
Gloucestershire back Sai Kishore to make an impact
Kishore is one of India’s most consistent domestic red-ball bowlers, taking 223 wickets in 54 first-class games tamil nadu. He was also part of India’s 2023 Asian Games gold medal winning team and took 33 wickets in 28 IPL matches.Gloucestershire Head Coach Jon Lewis Welcoming the signing, he said: “We are extremely pleased to have Sai Kishore in the squad. He is a proven and experienced cricketer who will be a huge help to our team.“The club is fully committed to playing better cricket in the last six County Championship games and it will be really interesting to see the impact the overseas spinners have at this stage of the season. Conditions at this time of year are usually very favorable to spin bowling, so we hope the tournament can make a significant contribution and have a real positive impact on the team.”
