The Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode (IIM Kozhikode) has admitted a new batch of students for the academic year 2026-28, with women constituting 66% of the students admitted to its postgraduate program (PGP). The institute said this is the highest representation of women in PGP among Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs). A total of 599 students participate in its three full-time MBA programs and 99 academics participate in its doctoral program.PGP enrolls 499 students, including 329 girls. In addition to gender diversity, the institute reports that 57% of students in the program come from non-engineering backgrounds. Across all three MBA programs, female enrollment accounts for nearly 63%, while 59% of students are from non-engineering disciplines.Primary enrollment 2026-28
Diversity benchmarks continue to riseOver the past decade, the institute has increased the proportion of women in PGPs. The 50% mark was crossed in 2013, exceeded again in 2021, reaching 59% in 2024, and currently reports that the 2026 batch is 66% female.Academic diversity also expanded. Non-engineering graduates account for 57% of PGP enrollment, 96% of the Graduate Program in General Studies and Management (PGP-LSM), and 45% of the Graduate Program in Finance (PGP-Fin).The college has also trained 99 doctoral students, including 27 in the doctoral program in management and 72 in the doctoral program in administration. This year’s enrollment also includes the first cohort of the PhD program in Management (teaching track).College emphasizes inclusive learning environmentSpeaking at the unveiling ceremony, Raghu Polisetty, senior managing director at Accenture, said: “Artificial intelligence can enhance intelligence, but it cannot replace human judgment, ethics or purpose.
