New Delhi: India all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy will be racing against time in the three-match ODI series against England starting from July 14 in Birmingham. TimesofIndia.com has learned that the BCCI medical team has advised the youngster to take a longer rest but he is yet to start his recovery. He was recently ruled out of the T20Is against Ireland and England due to left quadriceps discomfort.The impact is understood to be minimal – one that has prevented him from taking action since Chennai’s third ODI campaign against Afghanistan. Management is closely monitoring his progress and is optimistic about his return to the team next month. At the moment, the chances of this happening in England remain slim, and the Zimbabwe T20Is could be a practical option for a return to competitive cricket. Some players, including the captain Shubman Gill and wicketkeeper-batsman KL Rahul are likely to arrive early to start preparations.
