Dodin appeared to be visibly unwell, but it was unclear if she was injured or suffering from medical issues.Her early exit has caused concern for the West Indies ahead of one of the most important matches of the tournament.
Dottin returns to bat for West Indies
Despite the shock, Dodin returned at the end of the innings when West Indies were in deep trouble at 83/6.She batted at No. 8, smashing 26 off 16 balls and forging a vital partnership with Jannillea Glasgow to help West Indies chase 125/7 in the 20 overs.The Caribbean side briefly looked to be scoring much less before Dodin’s late cameo gave them a fighting chance.
Coach provides health update
West Indies head coach Sean Dietz, speaking during the interval between innings, confirmed that Dodin was feeling better.“She had some issues but she’s fine now and she had a great innings.”After the game, Deitz revealed that Dodin was suffering from health issues but praised her determination.“She had a little bit of a health issue,” coach Deitz said.“She’s good now, she had a great game in the last inning. Gave us a little bit of a run total.“Hopefully if we bowl well, get a couple of early wickets, we have a chance to win this.“She is a strong character. It will be difficult to neutralize her. Hopefully she can step up and chip in with a wicket or two.”

West Indies reached the semi-finals after beating New Zealand, Sri Lanka and Scotland in the group stage.However, their campaign ended in the last four, with Australia chasing down the target with ease.The six-time champions posted a record of 126/2 in just 13 overs to seal an eight-wicket win to book their place in the Women’s T20 World Cup final.Ashleigh Gardner’s unbeaten 61 off 36 balls helped Australia advance comfortably.
