Breakthrough: Kylian Mbappe opens the Swedish wall (45′)
At halftime, Sweden looked ready to retreat to the dressing room with a hard-earned scoreless draw. Dembélé played his trademark, devastating diagonal pass from the edge of the box. Michael Olise controlled the ball with his first touch, drawing two Swedish defenders towards him before curling a perfectly concealed reverse pass into the left flank. Sweden were aggressive again in the second half, pushing Anthony Elanga and Victor Jackres upfield and forcing turnovers. In just ten minutes, Sweden used Guikres’ aerial prowess to create several close chances. However, the French team’s centre-back combination of Saliba and Dayot Upamecano remained indestructible, which limited Sweden to a total of 8 shots throughout the night and only 3 shots on target.After absorbing Sweden’s brief spell, France turned the game around with a lightning counterattack in the 53rd minute.

After a Swedish corner kick was cleared by Rabiot, the ball fell to Lucas Digne on the left. Digne and Mbappe worked seamlessly together, with the latter pushing forward at an alarming rate. Mbappe drew the Swedish defense towards him before passing the ball to the overlapping Bradley Bakla. Bakola cut inside from the left wing and was followed by Gustav Lagerbjerg with a beautiful curling shot into the top right corner.
