These places are limited to one per continent,” ICC said in a press release on Monday.Fifth place in both the women’s and men’s competitions may be awarded to host nation Team USA, provided they finish in the top 15 of the ICC T20I rankings at any time between June 30 and December 31, 2026. If Team USA does not reach this ranking, the spot will be awarded to the highest-ranked non-participating team in the ICC Women’s T20I Rankings as of March 1, 2027.In the men’s competition, if Team USA does not meet the required ranking criteria, a fifth automatic qualifying spot will be awarded to the second-placed team from any continent that has not qualified as of December 31, 2026.The sixth and final Olympic spots for the men’s and women’s events will be decided through the first International ICC Olympic Qualifying Tournament to be held in 2027.The ICC also explained how qualification works for West Indies. As the West Indies represent multiple Caribbean countries as members of the ICC and are not considered a single IOC National Olympic Committee (NOC), They can’t participate in the OlympicsGet a direct Olympic quota.However, if the West Indies men’s or women’s team ranks among the eight highest-ranked non-qualifier teams by December 31, 2026, a separate Caribbean Qualifier will be held to determine which NOC from the region will represent the Caribbean at the ICC Olympic Qualifiers.
