Nissan Tekton rear design revealed: changes compared with Duster

Nissan India is preparing to launch the new Nissan Tekton SUV globally on July 9, 2026. And now, the rear of the SUV has been unabashedly exposed, revealing the Tekton’s rear profile. Despite sharing its underpinnings with the Renault Duster, the Nissan Tekton features some design changes at the rear. It gets a different taillight design, a rear bumper with silver inserts and uniquely styled roof bars. However, the roof spoiler, rear windshield and rear wiper are all inherited from the Duster. The “Tekton” lettering on the tailgate also adopts the same style as Duster.The front of the new Nissan Tekton SUV features a wide front grille with a red horizontal strip and an illuminated Nissan logo in the center. The SUV also features full-width LED DRL signatures connected to the headlight units, which contain L-shaped lighting elements. Other exterior highlights include a sculpted bonnet with prominent character lines, a central bonnet scoop and Tekton badging.

At the rear, the SUV will feature a roof spoiler, sloping windshield, C-joint taillights and a large bumper. In terms of dimensions, the SUV is expected to be similar to the new Renault Duster, with a length of 4,345 mm, a width of 1,815 mm, a height of 1,703 mm and a wheelbase of 2,657 mm.Tekton is expected to share its engine options with the new Duster. 1.0-liter 3-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine with 100 horsepower and 160 Newton-meters of torque, paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. The other engine is a 1.3-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine with 163 hp and 280 Nm of torque, mated to a 6-speed DCT or 6-speed manual transmission. There’s also a larger 1.8-liter hybrid gasoline engine with 109 horsepower, paired with a 49-horsepower electric motor and a 20-horsepower hybrid starter generator (HSG) with a 1.4-kilowatt-hour (280V) battery. Together, this configuration provides a combined system output of 160 hp and 172 Nm.Expected features include a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charger, dual-zone climate control, power tailgate, 6-way power ventilated front seats, 48-color ambient lighting, keyless entry with push-button start/stop, multi-drive modes and more.Image source: bhaiyajigadi/ Instagram
