Salman Khan has the B-town abuzz with his plans to move out of the famous Galaxy Apartments and into a lavish new seaside home.The actor is in the news as he reportedly plans to start construction of a new residence in Mumbai’s Bandra area, just a stone’s throw from his current residence. Shortly after news of the actor’s real estate plans broke, a video of the alleged sea-facing plot went viral on social media. The property was previously a two-story building that was demolished after it was deemed structurally unsafe, the report said.

According to news reports, the actor’s new home will be a six-storey residential building built on a piece of land facing the sea and registered in the name of Salman Khan’s mother Salma Khan. The proposed building has a total gross floor area of approximately 1,014 square meters and will be developed by Sach Developers.The proposed residence, which will be located in Chinbhai, Bandra, has sparked heated discussions among fans after visuals of the currently vacant property surfaced online. Video circulating on social media showed metal panels erected around the property in preparation for development.

According to Hindustan Times, official documents show that the Maharashtra Coastal Zone Management Authority (MCZMA) had approved the residential project on June 16, paving the way for construction to begin. The project had previously received an Notice of Disapproval (IOD), i.e. preliminary construction approval, from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) in October 2025.Rumors suggest that Salman and his family may eventually relocate from Galaxy Apartments, where they have lived since 1974.In 2024, Salman faced threats to his life when a gunman opened fire at his residence. After the shooting and multiple death threats, Salman was given Y+ security. He also upgraded personal safety shields and other safety features around his residence.
