actor Radhika Sarathkumar Strongly criticized the way some paparazzi and people behaved at the funeral of veteran Tamil filmmaker K Bhagyaraj. She said funerals should be a time to say goodbye, not an opportunity to create content for social media.

Speaking about the incident, she said, “There has to be a line. A funeral is a farewell, not a photo opportunity. At some point, compassion has to outweigh the content,” Deccan Chronicle reported.Radikaa also shared an emotional tribute to K Bhagyaraj on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday. She said the funeral was supposed to be a quiet farewell but turned into a circus due to the crowds and constant recording.

“A final farewell to a very special friendship of 50 years,” Radhika wrote in memory of her old friend, “a great creator, a progressive writer, a man who drew wonderful boundaries in the world of cinema, a man with whom I shared many laughs, great work and who always supported my family in his quiet and loyal way. A shocking farewell to his family, friends, colleagues and fans.”In another article, she also asked the government and film industry to formulate proper rules for funeral coverage. In this case, she said, a restraining order should be issued against the paparazzi.
On her Instagram story, she also shared a video of the funeral in which Radhika asks the crowd to stop recording. She later shared a video supporting a post criticizing the behavior of some onlookers and paparazzi.
K Bhagyaraj’s funeral
K Bhagyaraj died of cardiac arrest on June 27 in Chennai. He is 73 years old. His last rites were performed with state honors at Besant Nagar Crematorium on June 28. Many actors and technicians from the Tamil film industry attended the funeral to pay their last respects.
